Colgate Lake or Colgate Lake State Park is a state park located in Columbia County, New York. It offers a wide range of recreational opportunities such as fishing, hiking, camping and picnicking. The park is named after William Colgate, who was the founder of the Colgate-Palmolive Company, and it was originally purchased by his family in the early 1900s. Colgate Lake itself is a man-made lake created by the damming of the Catskill Creek
